Healing Autumn face mask

These yummy spices not only smell amazing, but are naturally good for your skin. In this autumn face mask, Nutmeg has anti-inflammatory properties and can actually help to reduce pore size and diminish acne spots and scars. Cinnamon acts natural exfoliate and antiseptic. When these spices are combined with honey, it creates a skin healing mask.

The mask in question contains 3 main ingredients – honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. I call this the multi-tasker mask:)

Nutmeg improves skin smoothness and helps maintain healthy skin in the long run. Many of the natural beauty products use nutmeg oil as their key ingredient. It also works tremendously in clearing up blackheads. Like honey, nutmeg too has anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties.

Cinnamon though extensively used in the kitchen does work as an excellent antiseptic and anti bacterial treatment for skin. Just like honey and nutmeg, cinnamon boosts skin health – adds plumpness and smoothness. It also works wonders in clearing up acne and skin irritations.

When honey is combined with nutmeg and cinnamon, it makes a great concoction that works to clear up acne, zits, fine lines, skin irritations, & redness. (try this calming and nourishing natural cream!)

A word of caution though: Nutmeg can be harsh on skin — especially sensitive skin — so be sure to try the mask out on a small patch of skin before applying it all over.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients.
  2. Apply to a clean face very gently in circular motions and be careful to avoid the eye area. Do not rub or scrub it in as it can easily cause irritation, especially if you have sensitive skin.
  3. Leave the mask on for up to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water.
