A super simple recipe for a hair rinse.  It’s just apple cider vinegar and water (with a few essential oils added in, of course!).  I know what you’re thinking-Apple Cider Vinegar stinks!  Yes, it does.  BUT, don’t knock this until you try it-ACV does amazing things for hair-and I promise, you won’t smell like vinegar.  Instead, you’ll have shiny, silky, happy hair!

Benefits of apple cider vinegar to your hair:

  • Helps detangle the hair
  • Stimulates hair growth
  • Removes product and chemical build up without stripping hair of moisture.
  • Restores pH
  • Soothes itchy dry scalp
  • Prevents split ends.
  • Makes hair shine

When pH is off in your skin, excessive dryness or oiliness can occur.  The same is true with the hair.  It is so important that we restore pH after shampooing.

Apple Cider Vinegar smooths the cuticle of the hair.  When hair cuticles are uniform and smooth, light can reflect.  When we shampoo, the cuticles open.  If they stay open the hair will look dull and dry and the light will be absorbed rather than deflected.  Residue from products inevitably will build up on your hair.  The more build up you have, the less shine.   ACV removes build up and shine is restored!

The Recepie:

1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar

1/2 cup Water

3 drops Lavender Essential Oil

3 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

You can keep it in a spray bottle and use it 2 times a week to replace the conditioner or after the conditioner.

  1. Shampoo your hair as usual, with a natural shampoo
  2. Spray a generous amount into your hair.
  3. Massage your hair.
  4. Let it set for about 2 minutes then quickly, not thoroughly, rinse it out with water.
