Why You Should Love Facial Oils?

Putting facials oil sounds like a skin debacle waiting to happen. Most of us want to get rid of oil, not slather it on. This misconception has given facial oils, oily cosmetics designed specifically to rub into your skin, a bad rep. Facial oils actually reduce oiliness and breakouts, while leaving your skin with a healthy glow.

The more you try to get rid of the oil on your face with harsh cleansers, creams and treatments that strip your skin of its natural oils, the more your skin works to replace them. That’s when your face turns into an extra greasy broken out mess because it overcompensates for that lost oil. Facial oils can actually restore and, if used regularly, maintain the natural balance of oil on your skin.

A few drops of a quality, organic facial oil  serum into your skin every day will leave your face moisturized, soft and acne-free.

Here are more reasons to fall in love with facial oils.

1. Light and lovely

Organic facial oils aren’t the same as rubbing vegetable oil into your face. These light oils consist of a mixture of rich carrier oils, like jojoba, argan or almond, and an assortment of essential oils, which are more potent plant essences. This combination of distilled oils creates a light blend that goes on smooth. It doesn’t feel heavy on your skin, and you can even use it under your regular moisturizer. With consistent use, it will give you a youthful, dewy complexions.

. A boost of vitamin E

Most organic facial oils can provide your skin with a beneficial boost of hydrating and nourishing vitamin E. As a powerful antioxidant, vitamin E helps fight free radicals to heal skin from damage from the sun and prevent those pesky signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles.

3. No preservatives or synthetic fragrances

Unlike conventional skin lotions and creams, organic and natural facial oils  won’t contain any nasty preservatives or synthetic fragrances and perfumes. Mainstream lotions and creams often include up to 70 percent water, so synthetic perfumes and preservatives are added to them to prevent bacterial growth and to create a scent. Besides being potentially toxic, these synthetic chemicals can also irritate skin, causing redness and breakouts. Unlike these products, plant-based facial oils are pure oils without any added water.

4. Aromatherapy

Most facial oils acquire their unique scents from including a blend of herbal and plant-based essential oils. Essential oils offer various benefits for your skin and their powerful aromas can also affect your overall wellbeing and mood. For example,  chamomile essential oil provides soothing, calming, and healing effects to both your mood and your skin; and geranium essential oil stimulates your senses and also firms and tones the skin. (And those are just examples of a few essential oils. There are many more!) Whether you want an uplifting feeling to get your morning going or something calming for a nightly ritual, you can likely find a facial oil that promotes a specific therapeutic sensation.

5. A little goes a long way

Facial oils look expensive.  You only need about two to three drops each time you massage the oil into your face, if that. And, if you use it regularly you won’t need to purchase acne creams, exfoliating treatments and even moisturizers. The facial oil will do the work of all of those products—and then some.
